DESIGN EXCELLENCE

Since the invention of the wristwatch at the start of the 20th century, watchmakers have seen the creation of a watch where the movement curves to fit the wrist as an important landmark.

The beautiful Gruen Curvex produced in the 1930s and 1940s, was the first watch of this type to be created. Now Eva Leube, a German-born watchmaker has produced a one-off stunning curved wristwatch. She has spent more than 4 years on the design and construction of this watch. What looks so simple is a tour de force of watchmaking skill. This watch is totally understated, but once you look closer at the detail it is astonishing.

The technical barriers that Eva needed to overcome to produce this watch are enormous. Added to this, she has produced a watch of great beauty and style. Eva is a rare woman in the select world of master watchmakers, but has certainly made her mark with this watch, one of the world’s rarest timepieces.
